However, the title was changed, to emphasise the main focus. Using the 'ethno-historical' or 'bilevelled method' of habitat anthropology, the text shows that, below the mythico-historical level of Japanese imperial Shinto, there is also an agrarian element of doubtless proto- or prehistorical origins (see e.g. names of deities in the primary stratum of Japanese myths!). The corresponding sources appear traditionally preserved as 'Illustrious Central Pillar' [of the Japanese world] (Shin no mi-hashira) in the highly conservative and territorially nuclear demarcation system of Ise. By putting aspects of cultic semantic practices and the territorial implications of Shinto into the foreground, the study questions conventional interpretations of the history of religion and culture in the framework of Japanology (the problem of cultural concepts merely based on written history). At the same time the study demonstrates the efficiency of 'habitat-anthropology' as a new method of cultural anthropology, and, particularly, of the anthropology of religion.
Der Titel wurde ge�ndert, um den wichtigsten Blickpunkt der Arbeit hervorzuheben. Unter Verwendung der 'ethno-historischen', oder 'zwei-Schichten' Methode der Habitat-Anthropologie, weist sie auf, dass unterhalb der mythisch-historischen Schicht des kaiserlichen Shinto auch eine agrare Schicht weiterlebt, deren Urspr�nge zweifellos in proto- und pr�-historischer Zeit liegen ( vgl. G�tternamen der Prim�rschicht der jap. Mythen!). Die entsprechenden Quellen finden sich als 'Illustrer Zentrumspfeiler' [der japanischen Welt] (shin no mi-hashira) traditionell bewahrt im h�chst konservativen, r�umlich nuklearen Markierungssystem in Ise. Indem die Studie derart in ihrem Zweischichtenbild die kultisch-semantischen und territorialrechtlichen Z�ge des Shinto in den Vordergrund setzt, stellt sie im Rahmen der Japanologie herk�mmliche religions- (und kultur-)geschichtliche Interpretationen in Frage (Problematik des bloss historisch im engeren Sinn gest�tzten Kulturbildes). Sie zeigt auch exemplarisch die Effizienz der 'Habitat-Anthropologie' als neue Methode der Kulturanthropologie, insbesondere der Religions-Anthropologie.
